Are you a school looking to inspire, motivate and educate your students about international development? Do you want to shift the negative narrative in the media about Africa, instead letting our children hear positive stories of hope and opportunity? So do we! Children and young people lead the way in choosing to bring meaning to their lives both within their social circles and throughout their years of education. Embracing purpose driven activities holds huge opportunities for us as a charity and we are excited to share with your students how they can positively contribute towards society by actively supporting us. We are always looking for new schools to work with and would love to work with you!
We have worked with several schools over the years, including Cokethorpe School, King’s Ely School, Eynsham Primary School, Hanborough Manor School and Madley Brook Primary School. Our schools pack has a plethora of fun and exciting ideas on how to raise funds for the children, young people and schools we support in Africa.
We are currently updating our Schools Pack and will upload it here once it is finished. In the meantime, why not peruse our fundraising pack for further information about us and lots of fundraising ideas for inspiration, or contact us to explore how we might work together.
Here are some of the activities schools might like to get involved in:
This spring we would like to invite your students to take part in a fun competition, challenging them to consider how they would make the world a better place for all, putting their creative juices to work! Children from 4 to 14 years old (three age groups) can enter the competition in four ‘A better world for all’ categories, and the winners will be announced by none other than children’s TV presenter Maddie Moate at Rafiki Thabo Foundation’s Family Fun Day!
Find out moreOne of our representatives will travel, subject to geographic location, to your school and present an informative, interesting and insightful talk or host a workshop for your students. We love to share our passion about our work with young people here in the UK. Should you be interested in inviting us to visit your school, please do contact us directly – we would love to hear from you!
How about hosting an afternoon tea, a themed bake sale, selling previously loved books onto a second home or offering your students the opportunity to attend school in their home clothes on any given week day – all in the name of raising funds for the scholars we support in Africa!
This is a great way to get your whole school involved! Our Rafiki Relay for Education has inspired 2000 pairs of feet, incl. 6 schools, to walk, run, cycle and swim a third of the distance to the moon! From Cairo to Cape Town, you can compete against other classes/houses within your school, track your progress on leaderboards, as you take on 13,222 km! Get family and friends to sponsor you – the glory as Rafiki Relay champions is up for grabs!
We are thrilled to be newly-partnered with Hampton Court House School, South London.
‘Hampton Court House is incredibly excited to partner with Rafiki Thabo Foundation. Rafiki Thabo’s vision in empowering scholars through education to enable them to reach their full potential is exactly in line with our own ethos. At HCH, we believe in nurturing students to become the best versions of themselves.”
