We accept donations during our opening hours. We gratefully accept donations of:
We also welcome donations of any kind of foreign currency, and any sort of discontinued British coins, and damaged or partial British notes.
Unfortunately, for safety reasons we are unable to accept children’s car seats, buggies or prams, bike helmets, or bladed items. We also cannot accept large items of furniture, kitchen white goods, mattresses or duvets.
If you have an item to donate, and you’re not sure if we can accept it please just call in advance.
Please don’t leave donations outside ACACIA shops when they are closed. They are often stolen, damaged or scattered, and cause an unsightly nuisance to our neighbours. In 2017, overnight donations for ACACIA’s Abingdon shop were set alight, causing the destruction and closure of the whole shop until 2020!
ACACIA’s shops could not operate without their amazing team of hardworking, cheerful volunteers. People volunteer in ACACIA UK shops for all kinds of reasons: because they support our mission to help some of the world’s most disadvantaged children; to gain workplace skills and experience; to meet people and enjoy team work; to stay active; to contribute specialist knowledge such as antiques and collectibles; and to have fun. ACACIA has volunteers who work a few hours a week, or come in every day. If you are interested, just drop in at your local shop and ask to speak to the manager, or email the ACACIA Shops Coordinator.
