Rafiki Thabo Golf Day – 5 August 2023

Play like a champion and be the best by par while supporting us on our Golf Day!

Imagine the pleasure of English summertime,  green fairways as far as the eye can see, stretching your legs as you walk the course, the camaraderie of fellow golfers, seeing old friends and meeting new. This is our invitation to 80 of our keenest golfing supporters. Join us on Saturday August 5th at The Club at Mill Green, Gypsy Lane, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City AL7 4TY. Book your opportunity for a hole-in-one and sign up today!

Upon arrival at Mill Green and being warmly welcomed at Registration inside the clubhouse, you will be furnished with your scorecard, as well as a brochure packed with information and highlights to look forward to throughout the day. No fear, we have the option to purchase Mulligans for those who believe 270 yards into the woods is always more impressive than 240 yards down the fairway but still keen to retake the shot regardless. . . .  Hit it, find it and hit it again!

Welcome breakfast baps with coffee & tea to ease you into the day and ensure that a warm up on the driving range with a bucket of balls, will fuel your best drive! Changerooms are situated within the clubhouse for ease of locker use, bathroom facilities and storage of your personal items for the day.

Rolling tee-times begin from 1pm. Deep breath, go long, swing high and you’re away! A mobile drinks service will ensure you quench your thirst as you drive the course to glory! To achieve it, you have to believe it! Club marshals will ensure a smooth pace of play and once you have completed your 18 holes, the clubhouse cash bar will be open for service!

A refreshing & welcome shower in the changerooms will best prepare you for the festivities post-play.  The Island-Shot Competition will take place close to the clubhouse terrace and we invite all our golfers to take part in attempting to sink a ball/s into an inflatable, over a body of water, from a distance, onto the island! No pressure, easy peasy. . . . .

A sumptuous BBQ supper will be served on the terrace, followed by a warm welcome from our Chair, Jon Uglow. Excitement and good-humoured rivalry will ensue with our auction items hitting the right spot and assisting with our fund-raising drive. Not to be missed and the finale for the evening will be the highly-anticipated prize-giving ceremony to discover who walks away with the champion title on our first inaugural Rafiki Thabo Golf Day!

A host of surprises and highlights await all our participants on event day and we can’t wait to share a fabulous day out on the course with you in support of the scholars who very much appreciate your play on event day!

Why not take this opportunity to invite fellow golfing friends or work colleagues to join you in 2-ball Stableford teams as you command the course and become the best by par!
