We are having such an amazing week! It has been so emotional to listen to Amar present our appeal on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday and to receive messages of support from so many of you, who like Amar, feel inspired by Ayiesa’s story.
It is also quite a nail biting week, as during a BBC Radio 4 appeal we do not have visibility of how much has been raised: we only find this out after the live week has ended – so we are writing to you today with a mixture of excitement and nerves! If we manage to raise our target of £45,000 through the appeal we can pay for the entire secondary education for 42 children in Kenya – giving them the opportunity to escape poverty, provide a dignified life for their family and help support others in their community so that they also have better futures ahead of them. Just like Ayiesa has!
Thank you so much for listening to, engaging with and helping to share our appeal, and if you have been able to do so, for any donation you have already made.
If you haven’t yet had the chance to donate, you can simply do so by clicking on the link below – we would be so very grateful!
Every donation – large or small – truly matters.
Don’t forget you can tune in to Radio 4 once more – this afternoon at 15.27 – to hear Amar presenting our appeal or listen any time on BBC Sounds – where you can make your donation until 23.59* on Saturday.
We would love your help this week to continue spreading the word and getting people listening!
Oh and we’ve been on BBC Radio South as well! Amar was joined by Jon, our Chair of Trustees, for a fabulous interview – listen to it on BBC Sounds (from 53 minutes in)!
Thank you so much from all of us at Rafiki Thabo Foundation for helping us make this incredible opportunity a fabulous success!
With all our best wishes,
Your Rafiki Thabo team x
*Please remember that our appeal runs on BBC Sounds until Saturday. From Sunday 28th June please use our website to make donations as the BBC donation link will move to next week’s charity!
