Join us as we host a fabulous day for the whole family with a very special treat for the younger ones! Children’s TV presenter Maddie Moate is headlining the day for us and is joined by our patron, England International Cerebral Palsy Footballer Harry Baker!
We can hear the squeals of delight already as you tell your children about our Family Fun Day! We are thrilled to invite you to enjoy live shows, fun, food, stalls, and live music, and promise there will be something for all ages!
Where: Cokethorpe School (grounds and marquee), Witney, OX29 7PU
When: 6th July 2024 from 2pm to 6pm
Walk in tickets: We would greatly appreciate you buying your tickets in advance so that we can make sure to have enough food, drink and treats for you all and reduce the risk of costs we can’t recover, but we understand that sometimes things are decided at the last minute and we are happy to let you know that walk in tickets will also be available: £7.50 individual / £20 family.
Your tickets include entry, live shows, and live music.
We will have lots of fun and games on offer for the children, including challenging Harry to ‘keepie uppies’ and beat the goalie, and meet & greet photo opportunities with Maddie and Harry! There will be bouncy castles, ride-on cars and a fire engine! You can browse more than 20 stalls, including jewellery, pottery, homeware, candles, gifts, arts and photography, as well as well-being stalls. We will offer BBQ, ice cream, candy floss, coffee & cake, a bar and lots more! Not all games, stalls and catering will take card payments, so please bring cash along as well to make sure you do not miss out.
We have a fabulous silent auction with something for everyone and for all budgets! This is now LIVE and the auction will close at 11pm on the 6th July to allow you to visit our silent auction stall at the Family Fun Day where you can see all the physical items up for grabs, such as unique pictures, treats and memorabilia – how about getting your hands on a signed Messi football boot! Visit our silent auction here and place your bids!
All proceeds from our Family Fun Day will go towards our programmes in Kenya, Uganda, and Lesotho, where we remove barriers to education for disadvantaged children through school bursaries, improving the learning environment, school meals programme and our support of children and young people living with disabilities. We have two fabulous shows for you!
‘Busy Bees’
We are so excited to feature Maddie Moate at our Family Fun Day! Maddie is a much-loved children’s TV presenter who is passionate about education and excites children the world over with her educational YouTube channel and her many books.
Maddie Moate is the host of Cbeebies ‘Maddie’s Do You Know?’ and CBBC’s ‘Show Me The Honey’, but did you know she also keeps honey bees? For the past five years, Maddie has been making videos about honey bees on her YouTube Channel, but now it’s time to bring her love of bees to the stage!
In her ‘Busy Bees’ live show, Maddie will answer all your BEE-rillant questions as she teaches us about foraging, honey production, and the importance of bees as pollinators. Expect honey taste tests, fancy dress, silly games, and an epic waggle dance finale!
‘Maddie and Harry’s African Adventure’
Last year Maddie was joined by our patron, England International Cerebral Palsy Footballer Harry Baker, as they together took on the challenge of a lifetime to raise funds and profile for Rafiki Thabo – they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro!
While Maddie excitedly skipped along, snapping photos and videos, thrilling us all with her fabulous knowledge about nature and wildlife, and even did one of her famous biscuit reviews live at midnight from Kibo camp at 4,750m, Harry had us in fits of laughter with endless funny stories, ran a Pilates session for the team at Horombo camp at 3,720m, played football with the mountain guides at almost every rest stop and insisted on reaching the summit despite his left leg giving him trouble and the onset of altitude sickness!
Maddie and Harry have some amazing stories to tell: about curious creatures, staggeringly beautiful nature, how tough it was, and also why they both so passionately took on this challenge. They will also show you some of their favourite photos from their African Adventure.
Toilets – Toilets are located right next to the marquee and are all wheelchair friendly.
Parking – Plenty of parking available! There is only one entry to Cokethorpe School and once you are on the premises, our parking marshals will guide you.
Payments on the day – Some stalls, catering and games may accept card payments but not all will be able to do so, so please bring cash!
Weather – while we can’t promise you sunshine, we can promise that our Family Fun Day will go ahead come rain or shine! We have a very large marquee!
