We are so excited and privileged to announce that Nepali mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa – world record holder with 26 Everest summits – is joining our Kilimanjaro Trek in August. Together with our patron, extreme explorer Bob Bhania, Kami will lead the trek for Rafiki Thabo Foundation.
Kami himself is no stranger to hardship and had his own education halted due to lack of money. While his route to mountaineering may have been due to lack of choice, having to earn a living first as a porter and then a sherpa, he has turned it into the most impressive and inspiring career and is today simply known as The Everest Legend. Not satisfied with 26 Everest summits, Kami is currently (April 2023) making his 27th Everest summit attempt!
We are so honoured to have Kami’s support and hugely excited for our trekkers who will have the opportunity to take on this life-changing challenge lead by heavyweight mountaineers Kami and Bob!
